Lighthouse Tours - City of Santa Cruz

Join us for Doors Open California! Pigeon Point is one of more than 75 unique and fascinating historic places in all corners of the state being highlighted during the first–ever Doors Open California weekend, sponsored by the California Preservation Foundation. Our special one–hour tours will include a 30–minute guided history walk and a behind–the–scenes visit to the base of the lighthouse which is closed to the public until restoration can be completed. While in the tower, learn about the restoration efforts at the park. We will also visit the museum to see the first-order Fresnel lens on display and view the exhibits in the oil bunker. Please note the ground around the lighthouse is uneven and there are several steps into the lighthouse base and the oil bunker. Pre–registration for each participant is required at www.californiapreservation.org/doca.
