On Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., the San Mateo County History Museum will participate in Redwood City’s 14th annual celebration of the Lunar New Year. Join us for this Asian celebration of change and the Year of the Snake.
The free event includes performances on Courthouse Square. Inside the History Museum, kids can participate in activity stations based on the Chinese zodiac. They can create a paper lantern, practice calligraphy, use an abacus, make a chopstick rest and more.
The San Mateo County History Museum, at 2200 Broadway in Redwood City, features exhibits related to the use of natural resources, suburban development, ethnic experience and innovation on the Peninsula from the time of the Ohlone Indian through today. The Museum is open every day except Monday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information go to www.historysmc.org.
